Who sings lead here?
I don't care for that first tenor singer. He don't have it! Not the looks! Not the sound... He belongs with the Village People!
First tenor?
Everybody is coming to see Otis now!
WOW! str8 🔥 here folks..vocals on point.👍🏼💯💯😎
I'm a die hard Temptations find an i must admit that thos is their wost line up ; but I'm a temp fan so I'm gonna support them😊😊😊😊
Louis' performance on this is awesome. One of the best I've heard
a song for me :) thank you Omar !
great show old and new temptations

I just love this line-up of ❤the @ TEMPTATIONS Solid Gold Legends. DELORES j.Smith 7618

I know both of them . Queens in the house all day
I saw The Whispers in the late 80s but was disappointed
Promo sm 💪
i need the name of the first song they performed on this show. i’ve been trying to find it for so long
No Stopping Till We Set The Whole World Rockin. From the LP The Temptations Do The Temptations. It’s on Spotify.
GLEN third behind Eddie and Damon as far as falsettos in the TEMPS go
Thank you for spotlighting bass playing baby brother Marvin Isley. In a group that featured Ronald on lead vocals Chris Jasper on Keys. O'kelly and Rudolph on background vocal harmonies and Ernie on lead guitar. Marvin feels a little like the forgotten man.
I’m a bass player and sometimes we are the forgotten man in a group.
@jessejames1956 you are the backbone my man. The Isleys are legends. Three of the core six members are deceased including Marvin. Loved his style. Maybe you could share your bass skills on social media sometime I'd listen.
I never liked Glen Leonard in The Temptations. Silent Night and I'm On Fire were his best songs with the group. I was glad when Ron Tyson took over.
😂😂😂😂 Tyson sucks and has a weak tenor. Glen at least had some strong leads and can actually sing🤷🏾♂️
Marvin Isley was a BEAST on Bass! Rest well, my brother 💯👑🎸🤘🏿🖤🌹🕊🙏🏾
Boy can this girl sing
Beautiful
Well 2 of them anyway
Only 3 comments !!
Dios existe ,Quincy Jones🤩🤩
OMG....This audience is boring! I know during these times that they were more of a novelty group. Their true fans always loved them no matter what! And still do....
It’s kinda dark so it’s hard to judge the audience reaction. You can see more response from them when Louis is singing A Song For You.
@@jessejames1956 It's not that dark. They got up on song, If you're happy clap your hands. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Glen Leonard biggest hit as co lead was Silent Night
I'm on fire was his best underrated song other than silent night
@@user-dj4kw5gz7p you RIGHT !
niccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccely dong. Steph in Alaska~
Marvin killed that bass❤
That bass is off da chain !!!❤
Linda voz sim , sem duvida. Mas faz logo recordar o Grande MICHAEL JACKSON. Quando comprei o LP em 1983, adorei logo esta canção, ...para sempre MICHAEL JACKSON.
The Temps were still in step they still put on a great show Temptations Forever!!!!!!
I always got the Eddie parts when me and my big brother uncle did our temptations act, and l loved it! I used to love this song too. Guess l was about 12 when it came out with Keep on Truckin'. No other falsetto voice was this pure and smooth! None!
Michael i missy you too much!😢
This is great. Marvin RIP .
❤❤❤❤I love You Eddie Kendricks RIP
Very good Mr. Musicroom 842 !!
Louis Price had a good voice, but he wasn’t in the tradition of David Ruffin and Dennis Edwards, who both had that razor edge to their voices. Melvin was arguably the greatest bass singer there ever was. Richard was smooth and probably underrated for the beautiful voice that he possessed. Glenn was in the tradition of Eddie Kendrick a good choice in that tradition. Even though Otis rarely leads any songs he has a great voice that helps the harmony. He is the bridge voice. He is the leader of of the group from a business standpoint, which is essential. He was and still is the glue of the group. His ego is in check not trying to be in the spotlight and letting others who have more commanding voices. It reminds me of a story about Andy Griffith. He let most of the people have the better lines on his first show. Don Knotts won some Emmy Awards as Barney Fife on that show. Andy didn’t win any. He did not complain. When he started the Matlock show he brought Don Knotts on that show. True geniuses do that, Otis Williams and Andy Griffith.
Louis has more than a “good voice”. He’s a singers singer. Ruffin called Dennis a “shouter “. Which he is. David has a more refined and versatile voice than Dennis.
Agree! Otis is the Business and the Backbone of The TEMPTATIONS now and then.
@@brendathompson2378 Going to see Otis and the guys along with The Four Tops next month April 2024. Duke Fakir is still with Tops as Otis is with The Temps and both are in their 80s. As a kid in the 60s on up I loved and supported these groups throughout. Both Otis and Duke are the only surviving originals of their groups so I want to see them and thank them for their talent and music through the many years.
When I was very young, it was always The Temptations & The Four Tops ! I'm 69 as of March 2024 & it still is Temps & Four Tops💯🌹🌺😎⭐🤗⭐🌹😊⭐💖☮️🛐🕎💟
Glenn Leonard had a nice falsetto ! Richard street can truly sing ! Poor Louis price , so much pressure on him. Melvin is Melvin , ain’t nobody comin to see you Otis !
I couldn’t stand Richard’s voice. Glenn had his own style. But Louis could sing the phone book.
@@jessejames1956 in reflection , Louis price said the pressure to replace Dennis after Dennis replaced Ruffin, was enormous and often he was forced to sing in a way that was not natural to him. When Dennis returned , it was a relief first him to leave . Many of the replacement Temps were not paid equally nor included in contract disputes. Many were often put in their place and then slandered after they left. Damon Harris was treated bad then slandered as were Richard and Glenn and Louis. Even Ollie Woodson who helped rebuild them , left to join Dennis ! As Richard said in his bio. Otis, the least talented and easiest to replace , controlled everything . Why his bio. The movie based on wasn’t written til most of the originals had died so they couldn’t refute it !
Richard Street says in his book that Louis was told right before a show that he was being replaced by Dennis because they were going back to Motown. Louis ever the professional, did the show. If you listen to Louis today, he sings basically the same way he is singing on this show. He sang the Dennis Edwards parts on the Temptations movie. I can understand why Otis replaced members many times over. Dennis had an ongoing drug problem. Everyone knows about David. But even Ollie had a drug problem. And a few of the newer members had problems. I give Otis props for keeping the group together for all these decades. But he was bogus for short changing members out of money.
@@jessejames1956 my info on Louis price is also from Streets book who said Louis voice was strained from being forced to sing like Dennis . From the book, not my words.
@@SuperBeachbum74Otis’ book was published in 1988. Other than Paul, all of the originals, including Al Bryant, and Dennis were still alive.
I love this. Always been one of my favorites by Jermaine. ❤
The original on Soul Train is amazing🎉🎉❤
At one point in this performance, when their doing covers of oldies, they mention that they are doing another show soon. The show that they are promoting was "Uptown: A Tribute to the Apollo Theatre", released 1980. I think it's lost media, keep you're eye out!
Definitely. I would love to see that.
I'd love to see that. Is it on UA-cam
@@brendathompson2378 There is some small clips on youtube! I think some of the bigger Tempts communities uploaded it, lemme know if you need help
